Anna Tortajada Orriols

Anna Tortajada worked for many years as a translator from German to Catalan and Spanish before starting to write her own books. She has published five YA novels (Cruïlla de mons, Nahid, la meva germana afganesa, Palestina, Simfonia de la Terra, La banda de la placeta and La meva diable porta xanques), three books that are shelved under travel but which she considers exposés (El crit silenciat, Filles de la sorra and Per fi, Brasil, this last one in collaboration with the journalist Natza Farré), three historical novels (Crònica d'una reina, La dama and La filla de l'hostalera), many picture books (L'home gris del país de les màquines, ¡Sahar, despierta!, L'esparver, Com ha canviat el conte!, Un embolic de rates i gats, Kalakamake), a story for all ages (A la muntanya de les ametistes) and the novel Les habitacions tancades. Some of her work has been translated into various languages. She currently lives in Barcelona.
