Emili Teixidor is an educator and writer, although he has also studied law, philosophy, literature and journalism. In fact, he splits his professional work between education, literature, cinema, television and theatre. Amongst other prizes he has won the Premi de la Generalitat de Literatura Infantil, the Premio de la Crítica, the Nacional de Literatura Infantil y Juvenil, and the Sant Jordi for fiction. A writer for young people and adults, Teixidor easily succumbs to two temptations: letting adventure loose and using high-minded language if it fits. According to him, words become a mystery in the minds of their readers and it is this mystery that pushes some to getting to know them better.
