Enric Umbert

Enric Umbert Rexach was born in Barcelona in 1958. He has studied science but for several years now his passion has been literature. He has written stories for the magazine Artefacto and published his first poems in a collective book entitled Trece puertas with the Taula Kabish poetry group. In 2010 he won the Miquel Costa i Llobera Prize for Poetry with the collection Boscos. He is the founder and coordinator of Taula de poesía amigos del Brossa, a group with whom he has directed, written and staged several different poetic-theatrical works including Palau de Destral, Setè Replà, Sonata per la vida and Poesia Coral. At a professional level he creates names, a discipline known as Naming. L’últim passatge de Walter Benjamin is his first novel.
