Isidre Esteve Pujol (La Seu d’Urgell, 1972) rode a motorcycle for the first time when he was ten, to get to school. He was the Spanish champion in enduros and raids. He raced the Paris-Dakar Rally ten times, comingin fourth in the motorcycle category in 2001 and 2005. On March 24, 2007 hesuffered a serious injury while participating in the Almeria Rally, leaving him paraplegic. However, once he recovered and adaptedto his new situation, he has continued competing in specially-modified cars, participating in the 2009 Dakar Rally in a Ssangyong Kyron.
