Toni Sala (Sant Feliu de Guíxols, 1969) won the Documenta prize with his book of short stories, Entomologia (1997). With Pere Marín (1998), he entered the world of the novel. With the short stories Bones notícies (2001), he put forward a disconcerting look into the most intimate parts of life as a couple. In Un relat de la nova immigració africana (2003), he narrated the adventures of a Gambian in Catalonia. The novel Rodalies (2004) won him the Sant Joan and National Literature prizes. Marina (2010), until now his latest novel, undergoes an attempt to relive the physical and human landscape of adolescence. Currently, with the essays of Notes sobre literatura and the two narratives of Provisionalitat, he joins the Empúries catalogue.
