Xavier Moret

Xavier Moret (Barcelona, 1952) is a writer and journalist. He has worked for several different newspapers and television programs and since 2006 has been a travel writer for El Periódico, which has allowed him to travel across five continents writing about what he sees. In 1998 he published his first book of travel writing, América, América. Viaje por California y el Far West, followed two years later by Boomerang. Viaje al corazón de Australia, and in 2002 he won the Grandes Viajeros prize with La isla secreta (The Secret Island), which recounts a journey through Iceland and would be complemented in 2011 by Islandia, revolución bajo el volcán (Iceland, Revolution under the Volcano). In Días de Hong Kong (2013) he chronicles his two month stay in the Asian metropolis.
