Ada Castells (Barcelona 1968) is a Catalan writer and journalist. Her literary life began in 1998 with the novel El dit de l’àngel (published by Empúries in Catalan and by Anagrama in Spanish), which was based on her Protestant ancestors. In 2001 she published Mirada, a novel against the dictatorship of the image. In 2005 she published Tota la vida (Empúries), a novel based on the artistic life of the German painter Caspar David Friedrich. She also published a collection of essays on motherhood, Sortir de mare (Empúries).
