Josep-Francesc Delgado is a poet, shortstory writer and novelist. The leitmotif of his work has often been traveling, the contrast between cultures and the fascination for non- Western civilizations. Si puges al Sagarmatha quan fumeja neu i vent (1988 Joaquim Ruyra Prize) is the first of his four novels located in the Himalayas; Nima, el xerpa (1992 Second International Europe Award) is a biography of a young Sherpa who seeks to recover the spirit of a relative killed in the Himalayas, Sota el signe de Durga (National Literature Prize 1994) explains an archaeological research in the valleys of Kumbu. He has also been devoted to the writing of short stories and published Havies d’haver posat la Traviata (1987 Al vent-Solstici d’estiu Prize) and La dama descalça.
